North Fork Mountain Inn Spring

We offer several packages that allow you to include local activities as part of your stay.  We will gladly customize a package for you as well.  Let us create an experience that will make your stay at our Inn a special occasion.  We can provide customized itineraries on request to include local and regional attractions in the Potomac Highlands.  Whether it is a romantic getaway or adventure outing, let us connect you to the best service providers in our area.

Bird Watching Weekend (April 14 - 15)

Join Dr. Rankin as he guides morning bird walks around the inn and afternoon excursions along the South Branch of the Potomac and in nearby Dolly Sods Wilderness areas, where you’re likely to catch a glimpse of a Bald Eagle. With the warmer weather and an early spring, we expect to see migratory birds passing through the Smoke Hole area that we haven’t seen before! Due to our proximity to the Dolly Sods Wilderness area, the North Fork of the South Branch of the Potomac River and the Monongahela National Forest, our inn is a bird and nature lover's paradise.

Our bird watcher’s package includes Friday evening appetizers and wine from 5 – 7 pm with dinner following, along with a hearty gourmet breakfast and picnic lunch on Saturday followed by fine dining that evening.

Cooking School Weekend (April 22 – 23)

We’re excited to share that our popular Cooking School Weekend is just around the corner. This bi-annual event is held the first weekend after taxes are due (April 22 – 23) and the last weekend before Thanksgiving in November. If you’re a foodie or wine lover, join us in the kitchen as we share the secrets behind several of our award-winning dishes.

To start off this fun weekend in April, on Friday evening we will teach you how to make an assortment of delicious tapas and appetizers accompanied by a special wine-tasting. You then will wake up to a Saturday morning filled with the secrets behind making our scones, omelets, French toast and other breakfast specialties

That Saturday evening our features will include vegetarian dishes such as pea and risotto pasta, sweet potato cobbler, and Cavetini in an ancient Italian tomato sauce—all paired with the perfect wine. It’s a menu you won’t want to miss as Ed, a European-trained sommelier, learned how to make these dishes under chefs Mario Batali and Carla Hall from the hit television series The Chew.

The cooking weekend package includes all meals, a chef jacket, a cookbook of the most popular recipes of our Inn, and some handy kitchen gadgets.
