O'Henry Bars


  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cups quick rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • dash of salt
  • 1 6-oz pkg chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup crunchy peanut butter


Cream butter and brown sugar. Add oats, corn syrup, vanilla, salt. Stir to blend. Press firmly into greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 minutes. Cool slightly. Melt chocolate chips and peanut butter together. Spread on top of baked layer. Top with chopped nuts if desired. Refrigerate to harden. Cut into small bars.
