Ella Gilliland's Orange Sherbert Salad


  • 1 (2 oz) pkg orange gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 pint orange sherbet
  • 1 (8 1/2 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1 (11 oz) can Mandarin orange sections, drained
  • 8 oz cool whip
  • Coconut & nuts, optional


Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add orange sherbet. Put in refrigerator and let chill until it starts to thicken. When partially set, add remaining ingredients, folding in cool whip last. Chill until firm. You may add some coconut or any kind of nuts if you prefer. Makes 12 servings.
